So while the party stands are missing at P Sara Oval, the music is back. Belatedly so, two days into the Test match, a band of musicians operating from a make shift stand, Sanga Fan Zone’ have brought the stadium to life.Operating from the third man region, the Remix’ band have played everything from Shakira, Ricky Martin to Bombay Meri Hai’. Singing with energy with Sri Lankan accent to tow, the musical numbers kept the Rotarian kids who flocked the stand entertained. With the kids wearing specially inscribed Sangakkara pictures on their shirts, it only added to the mood of the occasion.Traditionally Sri Lanka crickut’ as the locals call it here, isn’t complete without song and dance. It’s a regular feature at Premadasa and SSC grounds in Colombo. Galle had a small group of people who were happy to sway over music even while their team was under the pump for a good part of the three and half day test match. For all the old world charm at the P Sara, the music around cricket has now helped complete the symphony.
