first_imgAirline Announces Two Further Sponsorships Targeting Corporate Market It was celebrations all round when Qatar Airways presented the coveted main prize at the illustrious 2010 Australian Private Banking Awards to Macquarie Private Bank.Jared Lee, Qatar Airways’ Regional Manager Pacific Rim, presented the Qatar Airways Outstanding Institution UHNW Service Offering ($30M+ segment) Award for private banks supporting ultra high net worth clients (UHNW). The Private Banking Awards, the only awards voted on by high net worth clients, are hosted by specialist finance intelligence firm RFi and featured more than 150 of Australia’s leading banking figures. Distinguished guests included The Hon. Andrew Robb AO MP, Shadow Minister for Finance and Debt Reduction, Peter Flavel, Global Head for Standard Chartered Private Bank, and Jan Swinhoe, General Manager for Westpac Private Bank. This was Qatar Airways’ first sponsorship of a major business / corporate event in Australia since it commenced services to Melbourne in 2009, and the airline hopes to continue targeting this important segment of the market. Additionally, as the airline seeks to further enhance its reputation for five-star service in Australia, it has announced two event sponsorships in July. The airline will be a Supporting Partner of Guy Grossi and Luke Mangan’s In the Raw, a black-tie show featuring the two celebrated Australian chefs from 9-10 July at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. Three weeks later, Qatar Airways will co-sponsor the second top prize in the Lexus Premium Raffle at The Million Dollar Lunch at the Crown on 31 July. The Million Dollar Lunch is Australia’s premium fundraising event supporting Victoria’s paediatrics community.Offering a superb experience in all class categories, Qatar Airways is renowned for its internationally acclaimed five-star service, superior cuisine and in-flight entertainment options. The Business Class seats also feature 17 inch seat-back TV screens with more than 900 entertainment options. The airline commences non-stop flights from Doha to Barcelona on 7 June and enters the South American market for the first time on 24 June with non-stop daily services between the Qatari capital and Sao Paulo in Brazil and the Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires.
